Position Description:

The **Members Only** offers various internship programs that provide participants with practical work experience and skill development while familiarizing them with court procedures and operations. These programs aim to enhance understanding and appreciation for the judicial system.

About the Court:

The Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States with 580 judges and commissioners working in 36 facilities within 12 judicial districts. It has an annual budget of over $1 billion and serves a population of over million residents in Southern California.

About the Programs:

The Court's internship programs offer valuable opportunities for students and recent graduates to gain experience in the legal field. The programs include:

1. Court Administration & Courthouse Operations
2. Judicial and Courtroom Operations
3. Family Court Services Mediation
4. Paralegal

Paralegal Program:

The Paralegal program provides participants with quality work experience in preparing legal documents for cases involving child support, spousal support, and health insurance issues. Participants also have access to networking opportunities and gain an overview of Court processes and procedures.

Placement Areas: Family Law (Self-Help Centers, Domestic Violence Clinic, Guardianship Clinic, Toll Family Law Counseling Center with LAFLA)

Who Should Apply:

- Students currently enrolled in paralegal schools, colleges and universities throughout LA County.
- Individuals who have completed a Paralegal certificate program in paralegal schools, colleges, or universities.

Note: Most programs allow participation as an intern and offer accreditation or course credit from their school or certification program. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the Court's program meets the requirements of their specific course/program to receive credit.

What to Expect Next:

If you qualify for the program, you will be placed on an eligibility list for up to 6 months and considered for available opportunities. Please provide a current and accurate email address for communication with the Court. Human Resources staff will notify all applicants of their application status via email.
