Job Title: Legal Operations Associate/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Operations Associate/Paralegal at the company is tasked with providing extensive paralegal, operational, and administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining records and documentation for corporate governance and transactions, such as board meetings, corporate resolutions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and financing.
- Acting as the frontline support for requests from the company to the legal department.
- Drafting, reviewing, and redlining contracts, including NDAs, SaaS licenses, vendor contracts, engagement letters, and teaming agreements.
- Partnering with lawyers on the team for data requests, research, organizational filing, and general project management.
- Organizing and managing complex projects, such as managing vendor and customer contracts and regulatory filings.
- Coordinating electronic signatures and managing the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool and contract records.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, share best practices, and enhance efficiency within the legal department to increase scalability.
- Assisting other departments in streamlining their legal needs and providing them with tools to handle repeatable legal requests independently.
- Supporting and managing various ad hoc projects within the team as required, working with amorphous direction and tasking to create fast and efficient workflows.
Education and Experience Information:
- The candidate must have at least 4 years of relevant experience, particularly in corporate governance, organization, and M&A.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy, are essential.
- Proficiency in productivity tools such as AirTable, Asana, Slack, DocuSign, Adobe, Jira, and Salesforce is required.
- Knowledge of management tools like LeaseHarbor, CT Corp HCue, and Coupa is needed.
- The ability to build strong relationships within the team and cross-functionally, including with Corporate Development, Procurement, Finance, and Growth/Business Development, is necessary.
- Proven project management experience to lead small and large-scale projects from inception to execution is required.
- The candidate should be solutions-oriented, with experience in developing and streamlining processes and creating efficiencies.
- The role requires a self-starter who can work autonomously and is eager to impact the organization positively.
- The candidate should be willing to wear multiple hats with shifting priorities and work on projects of all sizes.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills are required.
- A positive, team-player attitude, good judgment, and eagerness to help others are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An interest in national security and changing the landscape of defense contracting is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience with startups, defense, and/or in-house at a high-growth company is strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience at a nationally recognized law firm is strongly preferred.
Salary Information:
The US salary range for this role is between $90,000 and $135,000 USD. This range is an estimate based on various compensation factors, including base salary only. The actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and business considerations.
