Job Title: Legal Assistant - Insurance Defense
Job Responsibilities:
As a legal assistant in the insurance defense team, the candidate will be responsible for handling complex tasks that are critical to the success of the law offices. The candidate will provide administrative support to attorneys, which includes preparing legal documents and correspondences such as motions and pleadings. Utilizing an electronic case management system, the legal assistant will manage attorney calendars, coordinate examinations for defense experts, and communicate with clients. Additional duties include maintaining files, answering phone calls, propounding discovery, including serving client discovery, along with other administrative tasks.
Education and Experience Information:
Must-have qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or GED equivalent or higher, along with one year of prior legal work experience in a business or legal environment supporting a professional team. Preferred skills include experience in insurance defense or personal injury, along with time management and organizational skills necessary to support a large group of professionals. Candidates should also possess typing skills with special attention to grammar and accuracy and have the ability to work independently while maintaining highly confidential information.
Salary Information:
Compensation for this position ranges from to per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, there is the opportunity for a Gainshare bonus of up to 16% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
