Job Title: House Counsel Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The position involves serving as an employment practices litigation lawyer, focusing on defending employers in agency matters such as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and Workers' Compensation 132a claims. The role also includes handling litigated cases in both State and Federal Courts in California. Key responsibilities include:

- Defending employers in agency matters and litigated cases.
- Managing a varying case load on an ongoing basis.
- Demonstrating effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics.
- Applying analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues.
- Communicating proactively and working collaboratively with clients and internal service partners, including other members of House Counsel.

Education and Experience Information:
- Admission to the California State Bar and the . District Courts of California is required.
- Candidates must have at least 5 to 10 years of employment litigation experience.
- Additional experience handling litigated employment cases in State and Federal Courts and agency matters, including DFEH, EEOC, and Workers’ Compensation 132(a) cases, is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of current procedural and substantive law in Federal and State courts is required.

Salary Information:
The base pay range for the role is $141,000 to $189,000. The specific offer may vary outside of this range depending on the applicant’s skills and other factors. This role is also eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
