- The Department of Law offers s the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day work of the state's civil attorneys through unpaid internships.
- Interns are assigned to a specific section within the DOL, allowing them to specialize in a particular area of interest.
- Responsibilities include research, writing, and observing a variety of legal activities, such as court proceedings and client meetings.
- Interns are also eligible to participate in training sessions offered to Deputy Attorneys General throughout the year.
- Law students may apply to work in one of 11 sections based in Newark, 14 sections based in Trenton, or 1 section in Voorhees.
