Job Title: Manager, Legal Operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership: Assist the department in setting annual and long-term goals aligned with corporate strategy. Track and report on these objectives. Lead, develop, and mentor a global team of legal operations professionals.
- Technology and Process: Develop and enhance maturity in areas such as eBilling, workflow, and document automation, self-service, knowledge management, document management, matter management, and eSignature. Drive the adoption of technology and AI tools across the general counsel office. Collaborate with the legal team to maintain playbooks and templates. Develop change management strategies to train and encourage staff.
- Outside Counsel and Legal Vendor Management: Partner with procurement, accounts payable, and the General Counsel’s Office to ensure vendor value. Optimize processes to engage outside counsel and manage spending.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including technology, segments, product, and other business leaders. Develop training and communication materials to promote AI tools and new technologies. Provide project progress updates to stakeholders.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Manage the General Counsel’s Office annual operating plan, including forecasting and accruals. Participate in strategic planning for future headcount and spend by practice and geography. Work closely with Finance and HR.
- Data & Analytics: Develop maturity in data and analytics use, particularly within the Commercial practice group. Refine dashboards for use by Chief Legal Officer and GCO Leadership Team.
- Industry Engagement: Engage with industry groups to stay current on trends and best practices. Evaluate new tools and technologies for enhancing legal services delivery.
Education and Experience Information:
- JD/LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification, or extensive paralegal experience with expertise in legal operations transformation.
- 5+ years of experience in legal operations management, with a track record of implementing technology solutions in a legal environment.
- Deep understanding of legal workflows.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data and metrics for decision-making.
- Experience with company legal products and services preferred.
- Certification in legal operations, project management, or a related field is beneficial.
Salary Information:
- The base compensation range for this role in eligible US locations is $99,400 - $184,600.
- The role may be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on enterprise and individual performance.
- Base pay is determined based on knowledge, skills, and experience, considering internal equity. Base pay is part of a comprehensive Total Reward program, including benefits and wellbeing programs.
