Senior Counsel Position Overview:

- Seeking a counsel-level litigation attorney with 8+ years of experience
- Focus on defense of complex general liability matters in New York
- Proactive, motivated, and organized with superior writing skills
- Interact with clients and domestic and international insurers
- Manage a caseload of 25-30 matters and supervise associates and paralegals

Responsibilities:

- Manage a caseload of 25-30 complex general liability matters
- Take and defend depositions and attend court hearings and mediations
- Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs
- Conduct complex legal research and draft discovery requests and responses
- Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies
- Effectively report to insurance carrier clients and insureds
- Work on all aspects of litigation from initial pleadings to trial or mediation
- Manage and supervise associates and paralegals

Education and Experience:

- Admitted to practice in New York
- . from 2016 or earlier
- Litigation experience and experience taking depositions
- Excellent academic credentials

Skills and Abilities:

- Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Quick problem-solving and ability to interact confidently with clients

Salary Information:

- Salary range of $200,000 - $220,000
- Factors considered in compensation decisions include skill sets, experience, and training
- Licensure and certifications, as well as business and organizational needs, also taken into account
- Range estimate not adjusted for geographic location and compensation decisions based on individual circumstances
