Job Responsibilities:
The paralegal will join the organization, a non-profit law firm that provides free legal assistance in civil matters to eligible individuals and groups in western Ohio. The role is specifically within the Stability and Independence for Survivors Practice Group, where the paralegal will provide services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The position can be based out of one of the organization’s seven offices.
Key duties include:
- Assisting in providing legal services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
- Collaborating within the practice group to ensure high-quality legal services.
- Managing case-related documentation and utilizing case management software efficiently.
- Engaging effectively with individuals and communities affected by poverty.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills and possess experience with case management software. They should demonstrate an ability to relate well to people living in poverty and have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and its impact on parenting. A commitment to providing high-quality legal services is essential. Ideal candidates will have experience working with domestic violence survivors and familiarity with family and juvenile court procedures.
