**Members Only** is currently seeking summer associates for our Summer Associate program. We are looking for law school students who have shown outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to the legal profession. Our goal is to help shape the future of our summer associates as knowledgeable and well-rounded attorneys.
Our Summer Associate program is designed to provide hands-on experience and challenging legal assignments to help our associates become better students and attorneys. Summer associates will have the opportunity to work on legal research projects, writing assignments, attend hearings, client meetings, and assist with depositions. Our attorneys take an active interest in the professional development of our summer associates through both formal and informal feedback.
The selection process for our summer associates is similar to our process for hiring other associates. Our Hiring Committee, made up of partners and associates, is responsible for hiring new law school graduates and associates for our Summer Program. Applicants will typically be interviewed by members of the Committee and other lawyers from our firm. New employees are integrated into our firm through our extensive orientation, training, and mentorship programs.
We primarily recruit summer associates from Drake University and the University of Iowa through on-campus interviews each fall. While we typically hire second year law students, we may also consider exceptional first year students. We also welcome direct submissions from students at other law schools and from other geographic locations.
