Job Title: Account Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Account Manager at the law firm is responsible for managing client account portfolios and will work closely with firm clients, partners, and finance management. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, serving as the primary contact for billing and finance-related matters.
- Managing a portfolio of high-value clients, ensuring compliance with the firm's financial policies and finance department processes.
- Understanding billing structures, commercial terms, fee arrangements, client requirements, and law firm economics to advise and support assigned partners.
- Overseeing accurate and timely billing, tracking receivables, and proactively resolving any issues related to prompt payment.
- Using dashboards and reporting tools to analyze client inventory and financial performance, identifying trends, and developing recommendations for improvement.
- Anticipating and addressing client concerns or disputes with resourcefulness and professionalism.
- Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex financial concepts.
- Demonstrating a commitment to client satisfaction and a proactive approach to enhancing the client experience.
- Handling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and composure.
Education and Experience:
Candidates for the Account Manager position are required to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a high volume/dollar, automated law firm finance role, including billing and collections.
- Knowledge and understanding of financial policies and procedures, as well as the use of both accounting and collections software systems.
- The ability to perform complex financial analysis.
- The ability to interact with all levels of personnel and function as part of a team.
- The ability to meet strict deadlines and handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A client service-focused mindset.
- Experience with Aderant or other legal finance software is required.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Salary Information:
The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
- San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $102,000 - $138,000 per year
- Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $91,800 - $124,200 per year
- Salt Lake City and all other locations: $81,600 - $110,400 per year
