Position Summary
The law firm is seeking a mid-level employment litigation associate for its Austin, TX office. This position offers a significant opportunity for attorneys who are proactive and passionate about providing high-level legal services within a sophisticated practice. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of labor and employment law, representing both local and national employers. This role involves extensive interaction with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda, motions, and pleadings.
- Attend court conferences and handle discovery-related activities and investigations.
- Draft position statements and dispositive motions.
- Counsel clients on employment-law-related matters.
- Engage in regular contact with clients, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel.
- Participate in a national employment law practice within a team-oriented environment.
- Contribute to a collegial office atmosphere with a commitment to mutual respect.
- Attend regular all-attorney in-person conferences across the country.
- Engage in attorney development opportunities through writing, publishing, and speaking.
- Participate in expansive professional development training programs.
- Work alongside leading attorneys in the field.
Education and Experience Information
- Juris Doctor degree required.
- Candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas.
- Must meet continuing licensure requirements during employment.
- A minimum of 4+ years of employment litigation experience is required.
- Class/collective action experience is preferred.
- Labor and Employment litigation experience is required.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills are essential.
