Paralegal - Litigation Division Organization: Office of the Attorney General
Experience: 1-3 years
Salary: $40,000-$50,000
The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Litigation Division. In this role, you will provide support to three attorneys and assist in all stages of the litigation process. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a paralegal degree or equivalent work experience to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the discovery phase of litigation, including processing discovery requests, preparing interrogatories and subpoenas, and tracking due dates.
• Identify, collect, and prepare evidentiary materials for motions and responses, including legal research.
• Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as answering phones, typing and copying documents, and maintaining calendars and files.
• Manage a high volume of cases, including monitoring due dates and communicating with clients and opposing counsel.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Requirements:
• Paralegal degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and case management tools.
• Excellent client relations skills and ability to work with clients to obtain information in a timely manner.
• Familiarity with civil discovery and summary judgment processes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience:
• 1-3 years of paralegal experience preferred.
• Familiarity with e-discovery software is a plus.
Salary:
• $40,000-$50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
