Senior Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs (Corporate)
**Job Responsibilities:**
The Senior Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs (Corporate) at the company is entrusted with several key responsibilities. This role involves providing legal support for a variety of transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, investments, commercial agreements, leases, and other facilities-related transactions. Additionally, the Senior Counsel is responsible for offering legal support for general corporate matters, which include operations, communications, public relations, investor relations, compliance, insurance, and risk management.
The role also requires negotiating and finalizing a range of contracts, including standard forms and non-standard contract provisions. The Senior Counsel will liaise with and provide legal support for internal business partners and teams, including corporate development, accounting, finance, corporate communications, public relations, treasury, tax, human resources, investor relations, and facilities. Managing relationships with key external lawyers and service providers is also a crucial part of the job.
**Education and Experience Information:**
The ideal candidate for the Senior Counsel position should possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with excellent academic credentials and bar membership. A bachelor's degree is also required. The candidate must have at least 5 years of sophisticated M&A/general corporate practice experience at a leading law firm. The role demands the ability to build and maintain effective relationships and to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across functions and teams to support dynamic business objectives.
The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects. For candidates based in California and New York, the estimated annual salary for the Senior Counsel position is between $230,000 and $260,000.
