The position is for a Managing Trial Attorney at a Fortune 100 insurance company, located in California. The MTA will manage approximately 12 direct reports, including attorneys and paralegals, and assist with managing the operational aspects of the Newport Beach office. The position requires diverse experience in multi-lines of business and demonstrated leadership skills. The MTA will oversee Commercial and Personal Lines files, and handle cases in various counties in California.

Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant civil litigation and trial experience, with jury trial experience as lead counsel preferred
- Management experience required
Education: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
License/Certification/Designation: Active license in the state of California

Job Description Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Implements and leads NTD standard methodologies, processes, and guidelines
- Maintains good relationships with clients and claims management
- Leads attorney, paralegal, and/or support staff performance and efficiency
- Assists with preparation of business reports and analysis for office management
- Co-manages and coordinates administrative functions for the office
- Monitors and responds to office growth demands or reductions in workforce
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Managing Trial Attorney (8-2)
Skills and Experiences:
- Juris Doctor degree
- Active license in California
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with management experience required
- Expertise in highly complex matters of law
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to train and lead team members
- Strong leadership skills, including motivation and problem solving
- Familiarity with ethical rules and corporate policies
Working Conditions: Normal office environment with frequent and occasional overnight travel required. Extended hours may be necessary to meet demands of the job.
