Job Title: Corporate Attorney

Job Responsibilities:

- Serve as a strategic business advisor for the company's cloud storage and data management products and services.
- Collaborate with product teams and other cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, operations, finance, and support, throughout all phases of the product lifecycle: conception, design, MVP, go-to-market, general availability, support, and end-of-life/deprecation.
- Integrate with product and engineering organizations to ensure compliance with regulatory regimes, commercial/contractual partnerships, and internal policies.
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of areas, including issues related to the application/deployment of AI and LLMs, open source and IP licensing, data privacy and security, and tech transactions.
- Develop and participate in scalable processes for legal review and the launch of new products, identifying interdependencies to foster alignment and track approvals across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to draft product-specific terms for standard commercial templates and custom templates, such as SDK or API licenses, terms of use, and product policies/documentation.
- Assist product and finance teams in optimizing commercial agreements for preferred revenue models, including software, hardware, recurring services/SaaS, and leases.
- Provide foresight and protection for the company against legal risks.
- Prepare and examine contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, etc.
- Coordinate proactive completion of discovery as required by cases, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and depositions.
- Manage all phases of litigation in cases involving employment discrimination, breach of contract, wrongful discharge, and unfair labor practice claims.

Education and Experience Information:

- Bar admission in any jurisdiction with good standing.
- Eight years of relevant experience (preferred but not required) in law firm or in-house practice, supporting tech transactions or product development in cloud services or SaaS markets.
- Demonstrated experience in tech product lifecycle management, guiding clients and products through launch processes.
- Knowledge and experience in IP matters, product development, commercial/go-to-market issues, data privacy and security, and compliance, particularly in complex SaaS, IP licensing, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Substantial experience advising, structuring, drafting, and negotiating tech transactions, including partner agreements, OEM relationships, inbound/outbound licenses, strategic partnerships/alliances, SaaS, and professional/hosted services agreements.
- Strong interest and ability to develop in-depth knowledge of the company's wide range of data storage and management solutions to provide strategic and pragmatic, business-centric legal advice.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to proactively engage clients, work through ambiguity, and build credibility and influence cross-functional teams.

Salary Information:

The target salary range for this position is $171K - $255K. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, an employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
