Job Title: Family Law Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Family Law Legal Assistant will work within the family law team at the law firm, providing comprehensive clerical, administrative, and organizational support to multiple attorneys. Key responsibilities include drafting and preparing legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents. The assistant will also manage calendars and ensure effective communication within the team. The role requires participation in ongoing learning and development initiatives, demonstration of initiative in tasks, and mentoring of teammates. The candidate must be proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) along with two years of related experience. Alternatively, certification such as ALS, PLS, CPS, or a paralegal certificate may be considered in lieu of experience. A fundamental understanding of legal terminology and court filing requirements is required, along with a working knowledge of legal time entry and basic office functions.
Salary Information:
The position offers a full-time role with a pay range of $22 to $27 per hour.
