Job Title: Tax Director - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director for Private Companies, the candidate will play a critical role in assisting private companies with a variety of business advisory needs. This includes audit, tax compliance, and planning to enhance operational efficiency and allow companies to focus more on their strategic objectives. The position requires involvement in the entire business life cycle of a private company, from inception through growth, maturity, and transition. Key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a team of problem solvers to tackle complex business issues, ranging from strategy to execution.
- Supporting the team in disrupting, improving, and evolving ways of working when necessary.
- Arranging and sponsoring assignments and experiences that help people realize their potential and support their long-term aspirations.
- Identifying market gaps and spotting opportunities to create value propositions.
- Looking for opportunities to scale efficiencies and new ways of working across multiple projects and environments.

Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge and/or a proven record of success in assisting companies to understand and assess the tax impact of business operations and transactions in multiple jurisdictions.
- Applies a deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for various entities, including corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, and Subchapter S corporations.
- Demonstrates technical prowess with ASC740.
- Identifies and addresses client needs and develops and sustains client relationships.
- Uses networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities.
- Prepares and presents complex written and verbal materials.
- Defines resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.
- Leads teams to generate a vision, establish direction, and motivate members.
- Creates an atmosphere of trust, leverages diverse views, coaches staff, and encourages improvement and innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Tax Director position is $140,900 to $434,000. Additionally, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
