Job Responsibilities:
The EDGE Internship Summer Program at the law firm is designed for engineering and science students interested in exploring the field of Intellectual Property (IP). Interns in this program will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing their understanding and skills in patent law. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing patent and technical research and writing.
- Reviewing patent applications and drafting documents for attorney review.
- Researching and reporting on patent filings.
- Undertaking other duties and projects as assigned by the intern’s direct report.
Interns will work closely with intellectual property professionals, gaining exposure to the patent engineer, scientist, and agent programs. Under the mentorship of experienced IP professionals, interns will develop their research and writing skills and stay informed about the latest technologies and technical developments. The program includes formal goal setting, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the EDGE Internship Summer Program, candidates must:
- Demonstrate a passion for technology and a genuine interest in patent law.
- Possess highly proficient research skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Be detail-oriented with excellent time management and follow-up skills.
- Show strong initiative and proactivity in collaborating with others.
- Have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Hold valid authorization to work in the .
