Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence
- Provide consultation, recommendations, and advice
- Prepare cases for court and determine evidence to be used
- Draft legal documents and correspondence
- Respond to questions and complaints
- Represent the state in lawsuits, grievances, and complaints
- Conduct conferences and negotiate settlements
- Travel to various court locations as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate required
- Member in good standing with the Utah State Bar (or qualified under Utah Court Rule 14-809)
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental, energy, and natural resources laws preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with a team of professionals
