Job Title: Senior Environmental Technical Claims Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
- Adjudicate commercial environmental claims at the highest authority limits, focusing on complex storage tank claims, under limited oversight and broad management direction.
- Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to resolve numerous and undefined issues.
- Report on claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
- Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, and other records to determine policy coverage.
- Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing involved parties.
- Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely and complete task management for optimal financial outcomes.
- Set claim reserves considering different policy wordings impacting the claims reserving process.
- Identify loss drivers and claims trends to reduce claims frequency and severity through data analysis and improved claim management.
- Assign and coordinate expertise resources for case resolution.
- Prepare reports for file documentation and apply creative solutions for the best financial outcome.
- Negotiate cost-effective solutions within own limits using various negotiation styles.
- Process mail, prioritize workload, and complete telephone and written correspondence.
- Exhibit a strong passion for claim management.

Education and Experience Information:
- A deep knowledge of commercial environmental claims typically acquired through a minimum of seven years’ experience adjudicating commercial environmental claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required; . preferred.
- Two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience adjudicating general liability bodily injury may substitute for a degree.
- Licensed Claims Examiner (based on state) with the ability to quickly obtain a license in jurisdictions requiring it within 120 days.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Strong claim negotiation skills and a proactive, pragmatic approach to negotiation.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to articulate the financial value of work at multiple responsibility levels inside client businesses, potentially including CEOs.
- Regular exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Demonstrates inner strength and courage to do the right thing.
- Strong focus on execution and the ability to consistently produce and deliver expected results.
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients, business partners, and organizational peers.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire for continued professional development through continuing education and self-development opportunities.

Salary Information:
- Chicago and Los Angeles Pay Range: $148,100 - $204,300
- New York City Pay Range: $161,800 - $223,100
- In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
