The **Members Only** Summer Associate Program offers a unique and comprehensive experience for law students looking to launch their legal careers. With a 10-week program that combines high-quality legal work, professional development, and training opportunities, our program provides a supportive environment for success. We also recognize the importance of balance between professional and personal lives, and we offer a variety of social activities to foster relationships within the **Members Only** community.
Our program is designed for second-year law students, and we strategically hire our Summer Associates with the goal of identifying and attracting the most highly qualified candidates for the firm's strategic growth. We want every Summer Associate to earn and accept an offer to become a **Members Only** attorney, and our program is key to achieving this goal.
The Summer Associate Program is run by a "Summer Team" consisting of experienced attorneys and legal professionals, including the chairs of our Recruitment Committee, our Senior Director of Attorney Recruitment and Professional Development, and our Legal Recruiting Manager. Together with designated Assignment Coordinators and Social Coordinators, they ensure that Summer Associates have a fulfilling and rewarding experience.
Summer Associates have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to various departments and practice areas within the firm. This includes commercial, appellate, and employment litigation, as well as corporate, M&A, finance, real estate, and bankruptcy. We want our Summer Associates to have a clearer idea of the areas in which they may want to practice, and we provide them with realistic insight into life at **Members Only**.
In addition to high-quality legal work, Summer Associates also gain real-world experiences. This includes attending deal closings, strategic meetings with clients, depositions, trials, and arbitrations. These experiences allow Summer Associates to gain a better understanding of the work they will perform if they continue their careers at **Members Only**.
For students who are patent bar eligible and interested in pursuing an intellectual property practice, we offer a limited number of IP-focused Summer Associate positions. These students will spend the ten weeks exclusively working on a variety of high-level IP assignments, providing them with a comprehensive and specialized experience within our firm.
At **Members Only**, we value the importance of mentorship. Each Summer Associate is assigned a Junior and Senior Mentor, who provide guidance and career advice throughout the program. We also believe in the importance of building relationships, and we offer a variety of social activities for Summer Associates to participate in. This includes attending baseball games, concerts, trips to art museums, golf outings, and dining experiences.
We are now accepting applications for our 2026 Summer Associate Program from rising 2Ls. Applications can be submitted through our website or through your school's Career Services Office, if we are participating in their recruiting program. We intend to begin interviews in early- to mid-June, but we are happy to accommodate students who may have conflicting interview schedules.
