Job Responsibilities:

The Summer Associate Program at the law firm offers a comprehensive experience designed to introduce participants to the life and work of an associate at the firm. The program is structured to provide meaningful exposure to the firm's operations, people, and culture. Key responsibilities and opportunities for summer associates include:

- Flexible work assignment process with frequent check-ins to discuss practice preferences, allowing associates to explore different areas of interest.
- Engaging in interesting and challenging projects that reflect the variety of real client work at the firm, providing practical legal experience.
- Opportunities to engage with industry leaders and gain hands-on experience in various legal disciplines.
- Participation in substantive skills development training programs, alongside shadowing and observational opportunities, to enhance legal skills and knowledge.
- Access to designated partner and associate mentors, work assignment coordinators, and program chairs who provide guidance and support throughout the summer.
- Networking opportunities and social events designed to help associates build relationships with colleagues across all offices.
- Receiving constructive feedback on work performance through both formal and informal evaluations, aimed at fostering professional growth.

Education and Experience Information:

To be eligible for the 2026 Summer Associate position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

- Be a second-year law student (2L), with an expected graduation date of 2027, pursuing a Juris Doctor (.) degree.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and leadership abilities. This includes active involvement in law school or community organizations that showcase leadership skills.
- Show a demonstrated interest in the firm's practice areas and industry sectors. This can be evidenced through relevant coursework, skills, and prior work experience related to the firm's areas of practice.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective legal practice.
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to career development, demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow in the legal field.
- Commitment to public service in the communities where the firm operates, reflecting a dedication to contributing positively to society.
- Be a self-starter with a desire to take on responsibility early in their careers, indicating a readiness to engage with challenging legal work.
- Have meaningful connections to the geographic markets served by the firm and a genuine interest in joining the firm as an associate after law school graduation.
