Job Title: Senior Principal Intelligence Specialist, FIU
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Principal Intelligence Specialist plays a crucial role within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the organization’s National Cause and Financial Crimes Detection Program (NCFC). The primary mission of the FIU is to collect and analyze both internal and external intelligence to proactively identify emerging risks and potential threats to investors and the market. This includes creating intelligence assessments and other products to support robust investigations, identifying new targets, and collaborating with partners, member firms, government agencies, and other external parties to mitigate risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering across the organization and externally on strategic and time-sensitive cyber-related events or matters to mitigate investor risk.
- Proactively monitoring relevant risk areas, notable trends, threats, and issues applicable to cyber intelligence and investigations.
- Developing strategies to mitigate cyber-related risks and threats.
- Independently identifying strategic and tactical risks impacting the mission of investor protection and market integrity.
- Establishing and maintaining partnerships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to understand intelligence priorities.
- Collecting and analyzing appropriate data and information from various stakeholders.
- Conducting high-risk and complex analysis and contributing to expanded reviews.
- Developing and executing strategies to distribute intelligence analysis to appropriate stakeholders.
- Providing briefings to internal and external stakeholders to transform intelligence analysis into action.
- Conducting tasks related to member firm/investor intelligence sharing and participating in conference panels, working groups, and roundtables.
- Conducting tasks related to staff training and intelligence sharing through subject matter training events, podcasts, workshops, or live webinars.
- Demonstrating the organization’s values and collaborating in-person and virtually to further the mission of investor protection and market integrity.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, is required. An advanced degree or law degree is preferred.
- Proven expertise in performing advanced and high-complexity intelligence functions representing the full intelligence cycle.
- Experience in analyzing and thinking strategically about complex risks and threats to stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of the organization’s rules and federal securities laws is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the securities markets and member firm operations is preferred.
- Highly advanced written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, specifically in building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly advanced organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Expert proficiency in using computer programs with the full suite of Office software applications.
- Highly effective at building and managing relationships.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position varies based on location and is influenced by factors such as the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons. The salary ranges are as follows:
- California: Minimum Salary $128,000, Maximum Salary $242,600
- Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota, Vermont: Minimum Salary $111,400, Maximum Salary $202,100
- Illinois: Minimum Salary $122,800, Maximum Salary $222,400
- Jersey City, NJ/New York City, NY: Minimum Salary $133,700, Maximum Salary $242,600
- Massachusetts/Washington: Minimum Salary $111,400, Maximum Salary $232,500
- Maryland/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $128,000, Maximum Salary $232,500
- New Jersey State: Minimum Salary $122,800, Maximum $242,600
- New York State: Minimum Salary $111,400, Maximum $242,600
