The Office of Senator Deb Fischer is offering an exciting opportunity for students interested in the legislative process. As a Fall Intern, you will have the chance to gain first-hand experience in . Senate operations and serve the Nebraska constituency. This is an unpaid internship, but the experience and knowledge gained will be invaluable for your future career.

The internship is available in both the Washington, . office and the Nebraska offices. However, priority will be given to Nebraska applicants. The selection process is competitive and ongoing, with offers extended as positions remain available. Each session will close as soon as all positions are filled.

The responsibilities of a Fall Intern may include leading . Capitol tours, processing constituent correspondence, attending briefings and committee hearings, tracking legislation, monitoring Senate floor proceedings, drafting correspondence, assisting with federal casework, and conducting legislative research.

We are looking for individuals with strong writing, research, and public speaking skills, and attention to detail. No prior experience is required, but it is preferred.

To apply, please complete the Internship Application Form and indicate which office you prefer to work in and which session you are applying for. The Fall session runs from September to December. Along with the application form, please submit a resume, cover letter, completed essay questions, two letters of recommendation, and a transcript. All materials must be scanned and emailed to the Intern Coordinator, Denise Barrett.
