Role Summary
The Paralegal will provide legal support to the Legal Department supporting the company's Midwest Region. This position will increase the efficiency of the departments and provide maximum protection for the company. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of the company.
Autonomy & Decision-Making: Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to the supervisor, and refers all exceptions to the supervisor.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
Paralegal
- Prepare drafts of contracts with Owners relating to various building delivery methods (construction manager at-risk, construction manager as agent, and design-build) using the company’s standard forms.
- Support the company’s subcontracting process by preparing subcontract and purchase order templates using the company’s online Trade Partner Onboarding system.
- Prepare redacted Owner contracts to remove proprietary information prior to distribution to trade partners and distribute them to operations teams.
- Assist department attorneys by preparing redlines of agreements and other documents for review, including conversion of documents to electronically comparable formats (., OCR documents and convert to Word documents) to compare against industry templates and/or prior agreements.
- File various legal documents related to company projects, such as executed Owner contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of subcontract riders.
- Assist with updating standard company templates and maintaining files for these documents.
- File and follow the destruction policy relating to trade partner bonds.
- As needed, assist department attorneys with various routine tasks, such as preparing monthly reports to the operations team, setting up for new department employees, ordering office supplies, and approving credit card transactions.
- Develop training materials and help deliver training as assigned.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (Preferred). In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
2+ years of paralegal experience (Required). Construction industry experience (Preferred).
