Senior Claims Counsel – Remote

Overview

DWF, a global leader in integrated legal and business services, is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel to join their dynamic and innovative team. As Senior Claims Counsel, you will play a crucial role in investigating and resolving liability insurance claims, utilizing your expertise in defense and coverage to provide strategic and effective case management.

Responsibilities

- Investigate and evaluate high-complexity claims related to Professional Liability, Construction, and Design matters.
- Develop and implement resolution strategies, including risk transfer, mediation, and litigation management.
- Provide legal counsel on coverage obligations and interpret policy language to recommend and prepare written coverage determinations.
- Oversee litigation, hiring defense counsel and experts, and reviewing pleadings, budgets, and litigation plans.
- Directly engage with clients, providing exceptional customer service and detailed reports on risk assessment.
- Represent DWF in mediations and legal proceedings, ensuring regulatory compliance and advocating for the firm.

Requirements

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active attorney's license.
- 7+ years of experience in claims management, with a focus on defense and coverage.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and legal analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead claim resolution strategies.
