Job Title: 2026 2L Patent Prosecution Summer Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The 2L Patent Prosecution Summer Associate will be a part of the law firm's Patent Prosecution group, which is focused on tackling complex and challenging problems in the field of patent law. The responsibilities include:
- Receiving extensive training in all aspects of patent prosecution, including analysis work, due diligence, and litigation support.
- Participating in the law firm's unique Patent Boot Camp training program.
- Working directly with seasoned lawyers on substantive client matters.
- Receiving unparalleled mentorship from leading IP partners.
- Engaging in comprehensive practice and professional skills training.
- Experiencing the law firm's shared values, inclusive community, and diverse practice areas firsthand.
- Developing a deep understanding of clients’ business strategies to customize an IP strategy for them, from the earliest stage of technical development to product clearance and licensing.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates interested in the 2L Patent Prosecution Summer Associate position must meet the following educational and experience requirements:

- Applicants must be a registered patent agent or qualified to sit for the USPTO exam.
- For the technology group, candidates should have backgrounds in engineering and/or computer science.
- For the life sciences group, candidates should possess graduate-level degrees in life sciences, plant biology, chemistry, and/or medicine.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Summer Associate position is aligned with first-year associate salaries, set at $225,000 annually for the class of 2025. This amount may be subject to modification in the future. Health and wellness benefits and paid holidays may also be included as part of the compensation package.
