The Role:
- As an Associate in our Investment Funds Group, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of private funds and investment management matters.
- You will work closely with partners and senior associates to provide legal advice to clients on fund formation and structuring, regulatory compliance, and ongoing fund operations.
- You will have the opportunity to draft and negotiate fund documents, including partnership agreements, subscription agreements, and side letters.
- You will also have the opportunity to work on fund-related transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- In addition to working on fund matters, you will also have the opportunity to advise clients on investment management issues, including investment advisor registration and compliance.
- You will have the chance to work with a diverse group of clients, including private equity firms, hedge funds, and investment advisors.
The Candidate:
- The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in private funds and investment management.
- Prior experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house at a financial institution is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 is required.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills are essential for this role.
- The candidate must be a team player with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A strong academic background and admission to the state bar are also required.
Compensation:
- The expected base salary for this position ranges from $310,000-$390,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
