Job Title: Tax Director - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Director for Private Companies at the company will be responsible for providing business advisory services to private companies, focusing on audit, tax compliance, and planning to enhance operational efficiency and allow more focus on business strategy. The director will experience the full business life cycle of a private company, from inception through growth, maturity, and transition. The role involves designing and implementing personalized service plans tailored to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the team to innovate and improve ways of working.
- Arranging and sponsoring assignments to help team members realize their potential and achieve long-term goals.
- Identifying market gaps and opportunities to create value propositions.
- Scaling efficiencies and new work methods across multiple projects.
- Creating an environment where people and technology collaborate effectively.
- Promoting and valuing diversity in teams.
- Developing connections that benefit people and stakeholders.
- Influencing and facilitating long-term relationships that add value to the company.
- Upholding the company's code of ethics and business conduct.
The director will be a part of a team of problem solvers addressing complex business issues from strategy to execution. The role involves adopting a practical and holistic approach to meet the unique needs of private companies and their owners, particularly in environments where transactions are complex and require a high level of sophistication. The director will leverage technical knowledge, specialization, and industry insights to address client needs.

- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 8 years
Certification(s) Required:
- CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge and a proven record of success in assisting companies to understand and assess the tax impact of business operations and transactions in multiple jurisdictions, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, law firms, or corporate tax departments of multinational companies.
- Deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, and Subchapter S corporations.
- Technical prowess with ASC740.
- Ability to identify and address client needs and develop and sustain client relationships.
- Proficiency in networking, negotiation, and persuasion to identify and sell new service opportunities.
- Ability to prepare and present complex written and verbal materials.
- Experience in defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.
- Leadership skills to generate a vision, establish direction, and motivate team members.
- Ability to create a trusting atmosphere, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Tax Director position is $140,900 - $434,000. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range. Actual compensation within the range depends on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
