Tax Manager - Credits & Incentives

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Credits & Incentives (C&I) practice, the candidate will be responsible for managing federal credits and incentives opportunities. This includes conducting Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, working with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits. The role involves delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising them on potential benefits and eligibility requirements. The Tax Manager will maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships and leverage technical skills to solve complex issues. Additional responsibilities include demonstrating sound judgment in evaluating complex scenarios, mentoring and motivating Consultants and Senior Consultants, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to leadership, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, and monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments.

Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this position include the ability to work within a hybrid work model with . Tax professionals co-locating in person 2-3 days per week and the ability to travel up to 25%, on average. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of experience in a related field. The candidate should have proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, and the candidate must have one of the following active accreditations: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, or Professional Engineer (PE). Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as MST, LLM, or JD, experience with tax technical research, experience with Federal or State and Local C&I, experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences, Big 4 experience or experience in a large CPA or law firm, and demonstrated analytical, research, leadership, and communication skills.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications. The disclosed range estimate is $89,180 to $203,060. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where awards depend on factors including individual and organizational performance.
