Job Title: Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect
Job Responsibilities:
As a member of the Information Systems Department, the Senior Enterprise Applications and Data Architect is entrusted with the responsibility of evaluating, developing, and sustaining architecture components within the application portfolio. This role involves monitoring and governing associated data within the environment to ensure optimal functionality and security. The essential functions of this position include:
- Assisting in the development of roadmaps for the application and data portfolio, and crafting transition plans to shift from current to future solutions within the environment.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating the standardization of data across various on-premise and cloud platforms.
- Identifying inefficiencies in workflow processes and implementing changes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of products or services.
- Reviewing application architecture and data integration options, providing recommendations to Information Systems management for potential implementation with on-premise or cloud-hosted solutions.
- Serving as the Project Manager for new enterprise-wide applications or updates to existing applications, which includes creating project plans, tracking budgets, monitoring deadlines, and assessing project team performance. The role may also require participation as a project member on projects managed by other team members or managers.
- Leading the testing of new software or new versions of software, creating and maintaining test environments for each of the enterprise-wide applications, including server specifications and software installations, integrations, and customizations. This includes creating and maintaining testing scripts, managing testing teams and procedures, and analyzing test results.
- Creating and maintaining production environments for enterprise-wide applications, including server and desktop specifications, client software packaging, server software installations, integrations, and customizations. The role requires submission of Change Management forms for approval per Information Systems procedure, scheduling work with vendors, performing installations or upgrades, and conducting final testing and close monitoring after installation or upgrade.
- Resolving and responding to Help Desk tickets related to enterprise-wide applications and other applications as needed, noting trends, performing troubleshooting, and managing problems, including escalating to other teams and vendors as necessary.
- Staying current on patches and releases related to enterprise-wide applications, reviewing release notes, tracking resolutions to existing software problems, and recommending updates for installation.
- Interfacing with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to stay informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies.
Additional functions of the role include:
- Maintaining a high level of knowledge in all enterprise-wide applications through release notes, documentation, vendor dialogue, and training classes.
- Assisting, teaching, and mentoring Applications Analysts, Administrators, and Engineers on the team.
- Performing other related job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of ten years of extensive experience in managing enterprise-wide applications, preferably in a law firm setting.
- At least five years of related work experience with cloud data analytics platforms technologies, such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to operate as part of a team in organizing, planning, and executing small to large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of enterprise system integrations, including multi-cloud integrations, data movement (ETL/ELT), data architecture (Snowflake, MS Fabric), data preparation (Azure Data Factory), and data consumption and visualization (PowerBI).
- Knowledge of infrastructure, server, operating systems, and network communications.
- Process-minded with a strict regard for details.
- Strong ability to install and maintain any enterprise-wide application, including servers, customizations and integrations, load balancing, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Knowledge of SQL server and SQL scripting.
- Extensive knowledge of various Microsoft technologies, including Azure AD, Azure AD Application Proxy, Power BI, OneDrive, and Azure Virtual Desktop remote app streaming.
- Certification in Microsoft 365 Enterprise is preferred.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is applicable to various locations including Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, . The salary range reflects a variety of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The job operates in a clerical, office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work, involving exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds.
- The role involves sitting most of the time, with walking and standing often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Visual Acuity:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
