Law Firm Seeking Midlevel Associate in Intellectual Property - Life Sciences Department in San Francisco

Overview:
- Law firm in San Francisco seeking a midlevel associate with 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a biotechnology practice
- Candidate must have an advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area
- Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) and a California Bar membership is required
- Must be willing to prepare for, take, and pass the patent bar exam either prior to joining the firm or within the first 12 months of hire

Salary and Benefits:
- Salary wage range for this position is $225,000 to $435,000
- Salary or hourly wage will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on prior experience, expertise, business needs, and market factors
- Total compensation package may include medical, financial, and/or other benefits such as 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits (. vacation, sick time, parental leave)
- Details of participation in benefit plans will be provided upon offer of employment
- Position is "at-will" and salary (and other forms of compensation) may be modified at any time based on individual performance, department/team performance, and market factors

Requirements:
- 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a biotechnology practice
- Advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area
- Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) and California Bar membership required
- Willingness to prepare for and pass the patent bar exam within first 12 months of hire

Responsibilities:
- Conduct patent prosecution and analysis in the biotechnology practice
- Draft and prosecute patent applications
- Conduct patentability and freedom to operate analysis
- Work closely with clients and provide strategic advice on intellectual property matters
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients on project updates and progress

Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a biotechnology practice
- Advanced degree, preferably a ., in a life sciences technology area
- Patent bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) and California Bar membership required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
