Job Title: Litigation Docket & Calendar Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Litigation Docket & Calendar Specialist involves significant responsibilities to ensure the efficient functioning of the litigation process within a law firm. The Specialist must possess a strong understanding of State, Federal, Local, and Judges’ rules and demonstrate a thorough comprehension of the litigation process. This includes the ability to accurately compute time procedures for deadline calculations. The Specialist must work independently while also reviewing the work of other team members to foster a cohesive and effective docketing team. Key responsibilities include:

- Demonstrating a detailed-oriented approach, with the ability to learn quickly, multitask, and work independently in a busy department environment.
- Conducting research using resource guides, rule codes, authorities, and various court websites.
- Communicating promptly and clearly with attorneys, secretaries, and paralegals regarding matter calendars and court procedures via emails and phone.
- Being flexible and adaptable to changes in department procedures as necessary.
- Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail as essential attributes.
- Being reliable and dependable, with a strong emphasis on daily attendance.

Education and Experience Information:
Required Qualifications:
- The candidate should have 1-5 years of experience in litigation docket and calendaring within a law firm’s legal docketing department or a clerk's office.
- A strong knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedures is required.
- Familiarity with using an automated, rules-based docket and calendar system, such as CompuLaw, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of court rules in California, Texas, Illinois, Washington DC, Virginia, and/or Maryland is highly preferred, with a strong preference for knowledge of California court rules.

Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Computer/Software Knowledge:
- Familiarity with CompuLaw or similar docket software is required.
- A typing speed of 45+ WPM is preferred.

Salary Information:
The salary for the Litigation Docket & Calendar Specialist position varies based on location:

- California: The pay range is to per hour.
- Illinois: The wage range is to per hour. Employees in this location are eligible for medical, vision, and dental insurance. The compensation and benefit information is provided as a good-faith assessment in accordance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act.
- Washington DC: The pay range is to per hour. Employees in this location have access to medical, vision, and dental coverage, including coverage for dependents and domestic partners. The compensation and benefit information is provided in accordance with the District of Columbia Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act of 2023.
