A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney – Litigation to join its Worcester, MA, office in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will bring 2–4 years of substantive experience across multiple litigation disciplines, including business disputes, real estate conflicts, trust and estate matters, and employment-related cases. This position offers a fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional advancement and collaboration alongside seasoned attorneys.

Duties

  • Conduct in-depth legal research using platforms such as Westlaw to inform case strategy and legal memoranda

  • Prepare, edit, and finalize legal filings—pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and transactional documents—with meticulous attention to detail

  • Advise and advocate for clients in areas encompassing commercial and business disputes, employment controversies, real property litigation, and estate/trust conflicts

  • Represent clients at hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations, articulating persuasive arguments on their behalf

  • Partner with senior attorneys on intricate matters while independently managing a docket of cases from inception through resolution

  • Monitor shifts in statutes, regulations, and precedent relevant to practice areas; provide timely guidance to clients and colleagues

  • Engage in negotiation sessions to structure favorable resolutions, liaising directly with opposing counsel and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar (or eligibility to sit for the Massachusetts Bar upon hire)

  • 2–4 years of hands-on litigation experience, ideally covering a mix of business, real estate, trust/estate, or employment matters

  • Proven aptitude for thorough legal analysis, excellent drafting capabilities, and strong written advocacy

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities efficiently

  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar

  • Any additional credentials in specialized litigation areas (., employment law certification, real estate licensure) are considered advantageous

Skills

  • Advanced legal research proficiency utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, or comparable databases

  • Exceptional written communication skills for drafting compelling legal documents and client correspondence

  • Strong oral advocacy and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel

  • Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex legal issues

  • Time-management and case-management abilities to juggle multiple files and prioritize tasks logically
