Job Title: Litigation Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Associate will be responsible for handling various tasks related to patent litigation. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and trial of patent litigation matters.
- Developing case strategy and managing cases, including all aspects of discovery.
- Collaborating with witnesses, including both experts and fact witnesses.
- Analyzing products and patents, focusing on aspects like infringement and invalidity.
- Conducting and defending depositions and witness examinations.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and court arguments.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Litigation Associate position must meet the following qualifications:
- Graduated with a Juris Doctor (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school.
- Admission to or eligibility for admission in Massachusetts or Washington, DC.
- 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation, either in district courts or before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
- Previous experience in handling patent infringement and validity analyses.
- Experience in drafting and preparing motions and briefs on patent issues.
- Experience in managing discovery aspects of litigation.
- Some experience in preparing for, defending, or taking depositions is preferable.
- Some experience in working with expert and fact witnesses is preferable.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain organized with extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for the Litigation Associate position is $240,000 - $310,000 annually.
- Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
- The position is eligible for an annual hours-based bonus.
