The role of an Income Tax Manager, State and Local Tax at BDO is a vital one, responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to clients on tax implications related to their business objectives. This position, located in Milwaukee, WI, with additional locations in Madison, WI and other states, offers a competitive salary and opportunities for career advancement within a dynamic and supportive work environment.

As a STS SALT Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of Core Tax Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers to provide specialized State and Local Tax expertise to clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, reviewing tax returns, providing tax consulting services, and representing clients before tax authorities on contested issues. Additionally, you will have the chance to develop and implement tax strategies, build relationships with tax authorities, and supervise the work of STS SALT Senior Associates and Associates.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation or a . Certification as a CPA or other relevant certification is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have more than five years of experience in state and local/multistate taxation, as well as prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to tax-related software and research tools is also desired.
