Construction Litigation Associate (3-5 years)
Job Responsibilities:
The Construction Litigation Associate will be part of the Construction Law & Litigation Practice, which is recognized as a leading group in the field. The role involves handling a variety of responsibilities including:
- Dispute resolution through arbitration, mediation, litigation, and pre-litigation counseling for troubled projects.
- Providing project planning and advice, which includes selection of project delivery methods and bidding strategies.
- Engaging in contracts and contracting, which involves planning, structuring, drafting, and negotiating construction contract documents.
- Overseeing project execution with a focus on compliance, permitting, insurance, bonding, performance, and payment.
The associate will work with a diverse clientele that includes owners, developers, investors, design professionals, general contractors, engineering professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers. The practice group includes attorneys with significant roles such as a gubernatorial appointee on the State Public Works Board, an Administrative Law Judge for the Nevada State Contractors Board, and outside general counsel to the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess three to five years of experience in construction transactions and disputes related to large commercial buildings, mixed-use, retail, industrial, and government projects. A strong academic background from a nationally recognized law school is essential. Admission to the State Bar of Nevada is required, or a willingness to sit for the next bar exam. Candidates must have excellent references and demonstrate strong communication, analytical, technical, and writing skills.
