Job Title: Mid-Level Municipal Tax & Creditors Rights Associate Attorney
Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Experience: 3-5 years working with public sector clients in a legal setting
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda
- Advise public sector clients on laws governing their conduct
- Represent clients in zoning matters and support in code and ordinance drafting and enforcement
- Attend school district, municipal, and public board meetings and hearings
- Conduct research and advise on local tax issues
- Prepare materials and appear in court on behalf of public sector clients for various legal actions, including tax collection and real estate related matters
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania
- Degree from an accredited law school
- 3-5 years of experience working with public sector clients, including Solicitor experience, local tax/municipal claim collection, real estate, land development, and litigation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible to meet the needs of the practice group
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- A commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
The Law Firm of GRB is currently seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join their Municipal Tax & Creditors' Rights practice group in their Pittsburgh office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with public sector clients in a legal setting and will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation for a variety of public sector matters. - Conduct thorough legal research and draft various legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda
- Advise public sector clients on laws governing their conduct, including the Right-to-Know Law, the Sunshine Act, and the Ethics Act
- Represent clients in zoning matters, such as variances, special exceptions, and conditional uses
- Support clients in drafting and enforcing codes and ordinances
- Attend and participate in school district, municipal, and public board meetings and hearings
- Conduct research and provide counsel on local tax issues
- Prepare materials and appear in court on behalf of public sector clients for various legal actions, including tax collection and real estate related matters
