A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its New York office. This hybrid role merges sophisticated commercial and regulatory dispute work with impactful public interest advocacy on topics such as civil rights, reproductive justice, and immigrant protections.

Duties

  • Spearhead complex litigation matters—from initial strategy meetings through trial—in areas including commercial disputes, securities enforcement, employment discrimination, and internal investigations

  • Perform thorough factual investigation and legal analysis; draft persuasive motions, briefs, and correspondence

  • Oversee discovery phases: document review, deposition preparation, and evidentiary hearing support

  • Collaborate with senior counsel on white-collar defense and internal inquiry engagements

  • Champion public interest clients in causes like gender and racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, religious freedom, democracy protection, and immigrants’ rights

  • Guide junior associates and coordinate with business operations for seamless matter management

Requirements

  • Litigation or public interest experience at a law firm, federal clerkship, or advocacy organization

  • Excellent academic credentials and strong professional endorsements or clerkship history

  • Ability to juggle multiple high-stakes matters with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date

  • Passion for fusing commercial litigation excellence with meaningful public interest work

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing of the New York State Bar (or eligibility to waive upon hire)
