Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Legal Counsel serves as the primary legal advisor for assigned businesses and substantive areas within North America, acting as an influential leader within the businesses. Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary legal advisor to Kerecis leaders at the VP and Director levels and their teams.
- Providing legal advice, guidance, and support to business clients.
- Proactively communicating legal matters and projects to leaders and stakeholders, influencing decision-making.
- Collaborating with Compliance in assessing business operational practices and establishing policies and procedures.
- Advising other functions regarding their policies and practices.
- Identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement within areas of responsibility and assisting in implementation.
- Participating in business projects to advance legal and business objectives.
- Assessing legal risks and developing risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with the business, Compliance, and other support functions.
- Communicating with external third parties regarding legal claims, promotional issues, best practices, and contract negotiations.
- Managing and directing efforts of outside counsel.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and agreements including supply, distribution, insurance, GPO, product sales, rebate, marketing, clinical, research, vendor, and employment agreements.
- Reviewing and advising on medical device promotional materials.
- Advising on marketing and physician relations programs and initiatives, and patient education programs.
- Integrating with the business to provide practical legal guidance and solutions.
- Identifying, creating, and implementing best practices around the preparation and negotiation of contracts.
- Approving contracts and promotional materials and programs.
- Conducting business to the highest ethical and professional standards, complying with applicable laws, regulations, the Advamed Code of Ethics, and company policies.
- Performing other job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic qualifications for the role include:
- Juris Doctorate from a US accredited law school.
- Licensed attorney in the US, admitted to the Bar in at least one jurisdiction, with the ability to obtain Virginia Corporate Counsel Registrant from the VA Board of Law Examiners.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney.
- Working knowledge of the medical device industry and specific legal issues applicable to a medical device business operating in the .
- Experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts, including those in the medical device or pharma industry.
- Previous in-house experience preferred.
- Experience providing legal advice and support for a medical device or pharmaceutical company.
- Preferred experience in promotional issues, commercial sales of medical devices, AKS, and FDA regulatory issues.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

Salary Information:
The compensation range for this position is $180,000 - $240,000. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or incentives.
