Job Title: Director, Data Experience

Job Responsibilities:

The Director, Data Experience (DX) will lead the Data Experience team within the Design Engineering & Analytics organization at the company. The role involves setting the strategy and execution roadmap for the DX team while fostering support from the Global Design organization and partners. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading the design and engineering of accessible data experiences, data visualization components, and patterns.
- Managing the strategic direction of the DX Design and Support functions, including expansion into product and user experience analytics.
- Owning and driving the data visualization component library known as **Members Only** Chart Components (VCC).
- Collaborating with designers, product owners, and engineers from Global Design and partner Product and Technology teams.
- Transforming vast volumes of data into elegant visualizations using both traditional graphics and novel concepts.
- Leading a team that values learning, feedback, and collaboration to deliver cohesive data visualization experiences.
- Nurturing strong cross-functional relationships and influencing product and technology partners.
- Articulating design decisions to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.

This is a hybrid position with in-office expectations to be confirmed by the hiring manager.

Education and Experience Information:

Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical/design relevant field.
- In-depth knowledge of data visualization design and accessibility in data experiences.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and fostering growth for a team of data visualization practitioners or a similar function.
- Curiosity and passion for Generative AI and its application within data experience and visualization.
- Fluency in digital design software, including Figma and FigJam.
- Ability to learn and adapt to changing design, engineering, and Gen AI technologies.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to spot single pixel deformities.
- Proficiency in moving from conceptual design to code.

Technology Skills:
- Familiarity with tools such as Pencils, Markers, Crayons, Paper, Balsamiq, Figma, FigJam, React, Angular, Stencil, Jest, Node, D3, Generative AI, and **Members Only** Chart Components.

Bonus Points:
- Demonstrated experimentation with Generative AI in the data visualization space.
- Ability to showcase abilities through public-facing data visualization experiences.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary range for this position is between $176, to $256, USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments if applicable. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Additional Information:

- Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
- Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
