Job Title: Principal Legal Counsel, IP Transactions
Job Responsibilities:
As a Principal Legal Counsel in the IP Transactions team at the company, the primary responsibilities include analyzing, negotiating, and resolving complex, pre-litigation IP disputes and licensing matters. The role requires evaluating patent portfolios and related economics, collaborating across teams, planning, communicating, and executing complex negotiation strategies, and negotiating and drafting the terms of licensing and other IP-related agreements. Additionally, the role involves formulating and driving strategy and providing counsel to clients at all levels of management.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, gained at a major law firm and/or in-house, specializing in patent litigation and/or IP licensing transactions.
- A proven track record of negotiating and drafting IP licensing or settlement agreements is essential.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree, along with admission to at least one US state bar, is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The role demands excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is crucial.
- The candidate should be a collaborative team player with strong business acumen and a client-focused approach.
Salary Information:
The base pay for this role is part of a total compensation package that allows for growth and development within the role. The base pay range is between $256,900 and $385,500, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base pay, employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in the company’s discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase company stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
