Job Responsibilities:

- Teaching paralegal and legal-focused courses in a remote or in-person environment.
- Utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System for course management (familiarity with this system is a plus).
- Demonstrating the ability to teach college-level legal-based courses effectively.
- Understanding recent and future trends in the Paralegal field.
- Using a wide range of legal-specific computer applications.
- Assessing student progress in meeting course learning objectives through formal and informal assessments.
- Holding in-person or virtual office hours for student consultations.
- Meeting required deadlines for submitting grades and attendance records.
- Participating in assessment and/or accreditation activities.
- Adhering to safety procedures and departmental standards.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Juris Doctor (.) degree is required.
- Membership in good standing with the Maryland Bar or another state bar is necessary.
- Prior teaching experience is required.

Salary Information:

- The salary range for this position is $1,114 - $1,203 per FLH (Faculty Load Hour).

Additional Information:

- This position is part-time and exempt.
- The work mode is primarily remote, although some in-person presence may be required on campus or at alternative locations.
- The position's hours per week and work schedule vary.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the . on a full-time basis, as employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.
- Only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states are eligible for employment: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia. This restriction is subject to annual review and potential expansion by the college.
