Job Title: Tax Manager - Private Wealth
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Private Wealth Tax practice at the company, the candidate will engage in high-level reviews of tax research related to individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns. The role involves preparing and leading client meetings on compliance and consulting projects that are related to tax planning opportunities and understanding the tax implications of transactions for clients. Additional responsibilities include training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors, taking on lead client-contact roles, performing billing and profitability analysis on engagements, and participating in marketplace eminence building and pursuits.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for this role include the ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week, and the ability to travel up to 25%, on average, depending on the work, clients, and industries/sectors being served. Candidates should have at least 5 years of public accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in investment management. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field is required. Candidates must have one of the following accreditations obtained: Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA; if not CPA eligible, a Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent is necessary. Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also acceptable. Experience in reviewing partnership and/or trust documents and managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing, is needed. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, as well as excellent research and writing skills, are essential.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM, prior Big 4 or large CPA firm experience, and knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors involved in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is from $93,660 to $213,200. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, where an award, if any, depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
