Job Title: Litigation Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of contested litigation related to mortgage servicing and/or foreclosure matters.
- Handle pre-litigation cases and assist with clearing title to real property.
- Prepare case analyses and advise clients on strategic approaches.
- Draft court pleadings and motions.
- Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
- Travel throughout the State of Texas as needed.
- Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and make court appearances.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Must be a member of the California state bar and maintain all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
- Minimum of 2-8 years of litigation experience in real estate or mortgage servicing preferred.
- Knowledge of the foreclosure process and requirements is preferred but not mandatory.
General Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Quick problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with the rules of evidence and introducing evidence.
- Knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is preferred.
- Capability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary range of $90,000 to $130,000.
