Job Responsibilities:
The law firm's summer associate program provides participants with varied work and training opportunities. The program is designed to foster interaction among summer associates, attorneys, and business professionals through social events. It serves as the primary source for new associate hires.
Summer associates undertake a wide range of challenging legal assignments similar to those given to new associates, which typically include:
- Legal research
- Analysis
- Drafting
Summer associates are often invited to participate in:
- Depositions
- Mediations
- Deal closings
- Client meetings
- Trials
- Other professional activities and events
They are also welcome and encouraged to work on pro bono projects. The law firm seeks summer associates who demonstrate:
- Academic excellence
- Leadership in and service to the community
- Dedication to excellence in the legal profession
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be currently enrolled students in good standing, pursuing the degree of Juris Doctor at an ABA-accredited law school.
For Patent Litigation candidates:
- A demonstrated interest in patent litigation is required.
- A technical degree or scientific background in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, and/or a related field is a plus.
- Candidates with backgrounds in life sciences may also be considered.
For Patent Prosecution candidates:
- Must be admitted to, or be eligible to sit for, the Patent Bar.
- Must have a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, and/or a related field.
- Candidates with technical degrees in the life sciences may also be considered.
Candidates for both Patent Litigation and Patent Prosecution must provide undergraduate and graduate school transcripts along with the required documents.

Salary Information:
