Job Overview:
An established law firm with a national footprint is seeking a Mid-Level Tax Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its growing Tax and Corporate practice. This role is ideal for an attorney with a solid foundation in federal tax matters—both transactional and controversy—who is eager to work with clients in diverse industries such as energy, technology, life sciences, and manufacturing. A background in renewable energy financing and corporate structuring is particularly valuable in this position, which offers opportunities for professional development and cross-office collaboration.

Location:

  • Minneapolis, MN

Duties:

  • Provide counsel on the federal tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, fund formations, and other corporate finance transactions

  • Advise clients on renewable energy transactions, including structuring tax credit deals

  • Support clients in tax controversy matters at the federal, state, and local levels

  • Draft, review, and negotiate tax-related documents and memoranda

  • Collaborate with legal teams across multiple practice areas and office locations

  • Research legal issues and stay current on tax law developments affecting clients

  • Participate in the planning and execution of complex business transactions

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in federal tax law, including both transactional and controversy work

  • Experience advising on renewable energy financing transactions is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with corporate transactions such as M&A, equity and debt financing, and fund structuring

  • Ability to manage several ongoing projects in collaboration with attorneys across seniority levels

  • Strong client-focused mindset with the ability to anticipate client needs and deliver high-quality service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited . law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing member of at least one . state bar

  • Eligibility to practice in the state corresponding to office location preferred

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities
