As Chief Ethics & Equal Employment Opportunity Counsel, you will play a crucial role in the office's mission by leading training and counseling programs and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. You will be a key member of the District Attorney's Executive Staff, responsible for implementing comprehensive ethics and equal employment strategies throughout the office. Key Responsibilities:

- Counsel and train staff on legal ethics, professional responsibility, and office policies
- Liaise with Ethics Committees of professional associations
- Serve as the primary contact for the New York State Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct
- Develop, implement, and enforce the office's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and procedures
- Review internal EEO investigations and recommend resolutions
- Facilitate EEO-related mediation and alternative dispute resolutions
- Lead EEO-related training programs and ensure compliance with training mandates
- Strategize to enhance diversity and foster an inclusive workplace environment
- Oversee the Office's Accessibility Coordinator and collaborate with the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities
- Manage the 55-A program and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Monitor employment practices to ensure legal compliance and promote fair employment practices

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must be a licensed attorney eligible to practice in New York with a minimum of 10 years . experience, including at least five years in criminal practice. You should also have demonstrated legal writing, research, and analytical skills. Additionally, . Public Officers Law § 3(1) requires that all persons holding civil office be citizens of the United States, and all Assistant District Attorneys must be . Citizens and New York State residents upon commencement of their employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have extensive familiarity with the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys and deep knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity laws, New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Administrative Code. Comprehensive knowledge of New York Penal and Criminal Procedure Laws, as well as experience in appellate practice, is highly desirable. Excellent public speaking skills and proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing diverse teams, are also preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.
