Job Title: Senior Counsel, Tech Transactions, Autonomous Vehicles & Fleets

Job Responsibilities:
- The Senior Counsel will handle a broad range of commercial matters, including drafting and negotiating partner agreements for autonomous vehicle (AV) deployments across mobility and delivery sectors. This includes integrating safety, data sharing, fleet management, intellectual property, regulatory, and privacy principles.
- The role involves providing legal counseling on related product integrations, working closely with business units to launch autonomous vehicles on the company's platform.
- The candidate will be required to bring extensive commercial experience to the team and develop creative solutions to complex issues during contract drafting.
- Engage and negotiate with external partners, ensuring the integration of risk and legal controls in commercial agreements and other external terms.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other legal and cross-functional teams such as Safety, Product, Policy, Intellectual Property, Insurance, and Privacy to provide comprehensive advice and create solutions that facilitate quick and responsible business operations.
- Act as an active and trusted business partner to operations, engineering, and business development teams responsible for launching autonomous services and products.
- Apply commercial insights in reviewing product features and programmatic initiatives to ensure legal, regulatory, safety, and risk mitigation considerations are incorporated into development requirements and operational decisions.
- Support fleet and electrification commercial initiatives aligned with the company's goal of creating the best platform for fleets, whether electric or autonomous.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of commercial legal experience is required, which may be in private practice, in-house, and/or government settings.
- A Juris Doctor (.) degree and a license to practice law in at least one state are mandatory.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, vehicle fleets, or on-demand mobility or delivery platforms is preferred.
- At least two (2) years of in-house experience is highly desirable.
- The candidate should have commercial and contracting experience in a regulated industry across multiple markets, delivering clear, actionable terms for clients, customers, and partners.
- Possess excellent business judgment and the ability to advise senior leaders on a wide range of legal issues related to technology and/or software platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders and legal groups, build relationships, gain credibility, and partner across functions to build consensus.
- The candidate must be a clear communicator, team-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to anticipate future challenges.
- Confidence and adaptability to operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- A keen sense of inquisitiveness, with the ability to spot issues, understand core matters, and articulate plans to address them.
- A passion for the work and a desire to make a significant impact.
- Enthusiasm for the company and autonomous vehicles is essential.

Salary Information:
- For roles based in New York, NY, the base salary range is USD $243,000 to USD $270,000 per year.
- For roles based in San Francisco, CA, the base salary range is USD $243,000 to USD $270,000 per year.
- For roles based in Washington, DC, the base salary range is USD $243,000 to USD $270,000 per year.
- Employees in all US locations will be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program and may be offered an equity award and other types of compensation. They will also be eligible for various benefits.
