Job Title: Defense Litigation Associate Attorney
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid remote opportunity)

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join its nationally recognized team. The focus will be on NYS Labor Law and personal injury litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside colleagues across multiple offices and collaborate with local counsel throughout the country. Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth research on Labor Law and personal injury issues, collaborating with senior attorneys to devise defense strategies
  • Take and defend depositions, managing discovery and e-discovery processes
  • Draft legal reports, memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery demands/responses
  • Participate in trial and ADR planning and preparation
  • Represent clients at courtroom conferences and motion appearances
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of Labor Law and personal injury cases, with supervision
  • Maintain a minimum of 1900 billable hours annually

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of general liability litigation experience
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required
  • Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey preferred (or ability to waive into NJ)
  • Strong experience with depositions, motions, pleadings, and e-discovery
  • Experience in NYS courts is required; federal court experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms for remote meetings and depositions
  • Ability to travel for in-person depositions and court conferences, including overnight travel when necessary
  • Excellent research, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to absorb and process new information quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism, with a cooperative and flexible attitude
  • Military experience is welcomed

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required
  • Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey is preferred

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with deposition, motion, pleading preparation, and e-discovery
  • Proficient in using video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team while managing individual caseloads
